Rookie Henderson has recorded five touchdowns during the current campaign
New England matched their best victory streak from the Tom Brady period as they defeated AFC East rivals the Jets 27-14 in the NFL
First-year standout Henderson led the way with three touchdowns as the Patriots claimed an eight-game winning streak for the first time since iconic QB Tom Brady's last year with the franchise in the 2019 season
Signal-caller Maye accumulated 281 passing yards and a score, completing 25 passes from 34 throws
The win bolsters the Patriots advantage at the summit of the division as they advanced to a 9-2 record, with the Jets at the foot after dropping to a 2-8 mark
The opposing team had taken the lead at Gillette Stadium with quarterback Justin Fields running in a five-yard touchdown to cap the New York's first possession
But the Patriots answered in the second period as Henderson scored two seven-yard touchdowns before the ball carrier grabbed a reception from Maye at the rear of the end zone in the middle of the third period to push the score to 21-7
"That was a key occasion for him delivering, and it's been fantastic for him to keep getting these reps," Maye said of Henderson. "He wants to be great."
Justin Fields connected with John Metchie toward the end of the third quarter to narrow the deficit for the visitors but Borregales converted a two kicks in the final period as the Patriots sealed the victory
