Football Recap: Denver Narrowly Beat Hapless Jets in Defensive Battle

In a defensive struggle this weekend, the Broncos managed to secure a close victory over the struggling New York Jets. Quarterback Bo Nix threw an early touchdown pass and specialist Wil Lutz provided the game-winning decisive three-pointer to secure the ugly win.

Defensive Display Wins Game

Even with recording nine sacks versus Jets QB Justin Fields, the Broncos found themselves trailing 11-10 after conceding a two-point play in the second half. Remarkably, the Jets managed just 82 total net yards throughout the entire game.

Nix, who completed 19 of 30 passes for 174 yards, led a critical 12-play, 65-yard possession that culminated in Lutz's short field goal with just over five minutes left.

Record Struggles for Jets Attack

Despite their horrendous offensive display, the Jets still had possession with a opportunity to score a potential winning score. However Fields was tackled on fourth down from the Denver 44 when coach Aaron Glenn chose to go for it rather than sending out kicker Nick Folk for a long field-goal attempt.

The Jets quarterback struggled all game, connecting on just 9 of 17 passes for 45 yards. The Jets ended up with minus-10 passing yards, the fewest in any contest since 1998.

"The aerial attack was non-existent," Glenn stated following the contest.
