From the very beginning of Campaign 4, new Dungeon Master Brennan Mulligan has kept viewers on edge with extensive world-building, a diverse cast of personalities, and a thrilling plot showcasing divine entities, fiends, and dark forces increasing in power within the urban setting.
Heads-up: Revealing details for Episode 3 of this adventure follow below.
The Combat-Oriented Party Revealed
The third episode finished on a huge suspense moment and introduced the premier party of heroes who will separate from the primary party to begin their independent quest, separate from the other two tables.
The Soldiers table includes the determined fighter (portrayed by the voice actor), the agile character (the talented performer), Tyranny (Whitney), the cleric (Sam Riegel), and Kattigan (Robbie Daymond).
Dividing the Cast
Given a large ensemble, it was obvious from the beginning that keeping everyone at a single group would be unfeasible.
Hence, the initial installments of this story serve as an Prelude, weaving together the personal journeys before branching into three distinct groups: Fighters, Planners, and Explorers.
The Nature of the Warrior Group
According to the DM, the warrior group is for participants who prefer a traditionally charged fight-heavy story mode where non-violent answers are rare.
Upon first impression, figures such as the reluctant priest the cleric might look mismatched, but the developments of the third episode make it clear why these specific adventurers are perfectly fit for the Soldiers table.
Reasons to Leave
For one thing, the group knows exactly where to go next after a violent opening clash with The Crow Keepers.
An old friend of Thjazi Fang—whose demise started the story’s plot—exploited the foes for his selfish purposes, entering the secret base, striking the character, and taking all the magical artifacts to auction.
The antagonist then paid off his liabilities and escaped to a secure base in the northern region, above the city, with Teor’s brother hot on his heels.
Personal Motivations
Moreover, each adventurer has a specific drive to depart Dol-Makjar:
- The agile hero, as Thjazi’s partner and trusted friend, wants vengeance.
- The adventurer knows Timmony and warns that it is a nasty location.
- The warrior and The healer, having disobeyed his family’s wishes to execute the target and instead rescued him, have no safe haven.
- But, their status as key figures in House Halovar could assist the group access areas they normally couldn’t.
- Furthermore, The grateful character swore a eternal obligation to The savior for his rescue and will now follow him anywhere.
Wanted and Hunted
In addition, all of them are hunted by the rulers that control the city for a range of causes, making remaining behind too risky:
- The agile adventurer and The character are notorious outlaws.
- Tyranny and The healer betrayed the influential house and the army of fiends they are partnered with.
- The fighter is marked for death by the clan.
This leaves them few options but to journey toward the northern region in search of the antagonist.
Future Episodes
Based on the recent installment’s Cooldown, we discover that the combat party will be absent in the upcoming installment, leaving the remaining eight cast members to round up the Questers and Schemers parties.
Audiences can look forward to learning which characters will be where in the story’s last Overture episode, available to watch on next week.
